5 Mistakes to Avoid When Buying a Hot Tub

You’ve just bought a new house and you are excited because now you finally have space to install your very own hot tub. However, the market has too many options and your minimal hot tub knowledge tells you to go for the funkiest looking one. Here are some common mistakes when buying a hot tub and how to avoid them

Not Considering All Costs
Yes, whenever we decide to make a big purchase, we have a budget in mind. A hot tub will put a significant dent in your pocket so you need to be in your budget limit. However, what people forget to include in these costs are the maintenance costs over the years. They need to be mindful of the fact that a hot tub will require maintenance throughout its life. So, even if a hot tub has a hefty discount, it might end up costing you more to get it repaired.

Installation Errors
Once we’ve made the purchase, we are extremely satisfied with how we stuck to our budget and managed to get a pretty decent tub in that. However, another mistake we have made is to not think of the installation costs. This may cost $1000-$2000 and will include the cost of delivery, electrical connection and chemicals, and accessories for the tub. So, keep this aspect in mind too.

Reason for Purchase
There are so many choices in the market that sometimes it might leave you confused as to which one is your best fit. To solve this problem, you need to be sure of the reason you want to purchase a hot tub. Some of the most common reasons are to entertain people, relax, or to soothe body pain. If you know your reason, it can really help you in narrowing down your search for the perfect hot tub.

Wrong Location
Imagine you’ve just bought your magnificent hot tub only to realize it doesn’t fit! Before you buy the tub, make sure you know where you’re going to install it and then measure the dimensions of the location and pool. You can also ask for expert advice from salespeople.

Incorrect Jet Considerations
The best feature of a hot tub is its massage jets. We are generally drawn to the ones that look big and fancy. This is an important factor to consider when you are buying a tub therefore you should also keep the placement of the jets in mind. If the jets are too big, the water pressure will be too high and the massage might get uncomfortable quickly. The placement is vital too. Go for jet seats that are molded to the shape of your back, wide top and narrow bottom.

These are some common mistakes when buying a hot tub so makes sure you do your research before you take the plunge.     Â
